Black Bat

3 days in Barcelona/Sitges

5 Apr 2017

warning photos taken on iPhone, warning they are not good, warning im sorry :)

1st day,
Waking up at 5am is just not my thing so I gave myself a four minute snooze and woke up at 5:04am ;) (rebel), also ran around the house packing some last minute stuff which was great. blah blah, so we arrived in Barcaaa, where it was raining but then obviously cleared up and was sunny because well I was there :) Had a little tour, visited La Sagrada de familia, and saw a realllyyy nice view of Barcelona. We arrived at our Hotel in Sitges where I ended up passing out and slept at 9pm :)

2nd day,
This was the day we started to gather data for Geography coursework, we ended up going back to Barcelona to conduct surveys of area. This day was targeted for those who would like to write about the human side of Geography. We went to 4 different areas along the El Raval in order to investigate the regeneration/rebranding of Barcelona after the Olympic games. It was so nice to not only see the ‘good’ or ‘rich’ side of Barcelona. We got to see the social inequalities and division present in Barcelona, especially when we were forced to put away our clipboards (how studious and geography like) and our phones away as we visited a area where there were prostitutes on the side walks. A road less than one minute from the street was based a 5* hotel which is so inconsiderate that there were  protests from local residents that the hotel should be relocated. Personally it seems dehumanising that a 5* hotel was located in an area where there are literally prostitutes down the road and flats were overcrowded and falling apart!

3rd day,
Probably my favourite as this day was targeted for those who would like to write about the physical side of Geography. We travelled to 2 different sand dunes, one was managed via human impact and the other was unmanaged. We took data from several points on the sand dunes and, yes we did actually take soil samples and looked at number of different species ect :))) very fun. Let me not get write a lot before I get judged We arrived back to the hotel and then went to the beach for 2 hours. (I got sun burnt :))

blah blah I packed my stuff again to leave Sitges, so I don’t really count the 4th day as a proper day.

the ‘real’ London

25 Mar 2017

currently listening to rain music
I love these pictures so much, the fact that they are not typically what you imagine as ‘good’ photos, makes me love them even more, plus it was my sisters and I first time using film. From a tourists point of view you never associate London with anything but the London Eye and Buckingham Palace, but it’s more than that :) #councilflats

Most of these photos are taken from Elephant and Castle (endssss) and hopefully make you want to see the ‘real’ London.

organisation or whatever?

17 Mar 2017

I have my big lever arch folder that I take into school every day, which contain all the recent notes from class. Some days I have 3 teachers, so it saves me from having to carry 3 sets of folders, but instead I will have around 3 lessons of notes from that class. At home, however, I keep separate binders for that class that contain everything, beside what I take in my big folder. (Does this even make any sense?!)

1st folder: 3 of the newest class notes/new topic.
other folders: all of notes, homework's and handouts since September.

Because I am a monster I broke my hole puncher. PRO tip, always bring a hole-puncher. You leave your folder at home, meh it doesn't matter. You leave your hole-puncher at home, your dead. Just try not to leave both at home basically. So I carry a plastic envelope wallet which saves my life, in one I put my notes from class, or leaflets, literally any spare pieces of paper, then when I get home, (well, sometimes I’m lazy and they end up being in the envelope for a week) I file my notes into my big folder.

There is always the big debate on bringing a laptop to school. I have finally come to the conclusion, despite deceiving myself for months, that typing work on my laptop does NOTHING for me. Whether it is an essay, notes, homework ect. During one geography lesson, I whipped out my laptop feeling all productive and what not. I wrote some notes, and if I do say so myself they were quite cute, I did spend around 20 minutes trying to make a mind map. Besides the point, I forgot about those notes and 2 months later I realise there is a gap of notes in my folder, I scavenge for those notes from that lesson on my laptop and hey are nowhere to be found. Moral of the story, don’t be lazy, just write out the notes :)

Importance of a locker. I was being stingy for 5 months, every time I asked Dalal for her locker key, she would hand over the key and ask ‘why don’t you just get your own’, I would claim over and over again that ‘I won’t need one. The school is rich enough that I won’t give them £5’ If that isn’t petty, I don't know what it. anyways 6 months later I have a locker key and the school is richer by £5
Insert Shabby work folder :))))

Aesop - B & Tea Balancing Toner
I do love this toner, it really does remove all the grime and oil from your face, even after cleansing. I would recommend this to everyone, but at the end of the day any toner does the job. For £23, is it really worth it? Don’t get me wrong, it is really good. but so are others. I have the Clean & Clear blackhead clearing cleanser (which is technically a toner), yet it is roughly £3, and pretty much does the same job! The Aesop toner is alcohol free, which is always a plus, whereas the Clean & Clear toner’s 2nd main ingredient is alcohol. dun dun dun, competition. At the end of the day, it depends on what you want to put in your skin!

Aesop - Fabulous Face Cleanser:
This makes it seem like I’m sponsored by Aesop, I’m not (hint hint ;)) But really, I do love their products. Plus their packaging is very cute and ‘organised’. This cleanser apparently ‘effectively cleanses without disturbing the skin's natural tonal balance.’ This does sound about alright. It is pretty average but it has been the only cleanser I have been using during Mid January - February. Whilst this cleanser does not prevent any breakouts (or ‘remove them’), it cleanses my skin really well. My spots are hormonal and due to stress so no cleanser, so far, has removed my spots but hey :)

Penhaligon - Empressa
I’m so excited to write about this perfume, it is probably the best perfume I’ve ever had. Okay I’m lying, this perfume is not even mine, it’s my sisters. but what is hers is mine :) This perfume is sweet without smelling ‘cheap’, it is ‘luxury’ fragrance that literally lasts so long! I suggest at least get a sample of this and you’ll realise why I love it so much.

18 tmi tag

14 Feb 2017

I’ve cut the ’tmi tag' short because I had to hover the notepad in front of my fireplace whilst also taking a picture. trust me, it’s more harder than it sounds. I also realised that people either can’t read my handwriting, or the pictures are just terrible. To be safe I wrote my answers below ;)

1: What are you wearing?
A tatty hoodie and leggings :))

2: Ever been in love?
lol nah

3: Ever had a terrible breakup?
lol nah

4: How tall are you?

5: How much do you weigh?
okay a bit too personal

6: Any tattoos?
No, but I do want some, although I am very very indecisive so I would probably hate the tattoo after a month.

7: Any piercings?

6! 2 lobe piercing on my left ear, 4 on my right ear (2 lobe, 1 cartilage, 1 forward helix) read more ;)

8: OTP?
probably the toughest question, I can't pick. Damon + Elena, Caroline + Klaus and Juliette + Warner!

9: Favourites show?
Ooo once again indecisive. Either The vampire diaries, game of thrones, Teen wolf, River Dale, Missing 9?!

10: Favourite bands?
not that into bands

11: Something you miss? .
ooo Ice cream in Rome

13: How old are you?

14: Zodiac sign?
